Mar & Sol provides a source of income for people who have suffered from the armed conflict in the rural area of Tumaco, while helping to maintain of a process of sustainable fishing.

How does the social business solve this problem?

Mar & Sol processes raw shrimp to sell all over Colombia. The company employs mostly women from underprivileged backgrounds as business partners. The company also cooperates with small shrimp producers and cooperatives in order to get fresh and quality raw shrimp at fair prices.

How does the social business generate revenue?

Mar & Sol currently sells shrimp to 25 retail stores all over Colombia, working with around 150 families in the community.
