Session Description:
The social business model is merely a tool for change, but depending on the people behind it, the power and impact it generates can be disproportionately amazing. Like any other business the challenges faced, especially at the beginning are enormous. Regardless of the obstacles faced, working on untapped niche markets, overlooked consumer groups, or just coming up with a simple solution for a decades old systemic problem is what keeps the social business entrepreneur going. It provides the entrepreneurs with an unparalleled experience in character building, insights into one's own industry that you were once not aware of, unforeseen challenges usually not found in business management self help books and value driven friendships that last a lifetime. It uses all the principles of implementing a profit making business but with a social mission in mind, one that looks to solve a particular social problem. Let us hear from the drivers of such changes themselves!
