What is the problem the social business is solving?
In Albania, marginalized women from urban and suburban areas in difficult social and economic conditions have very low income opportunities and suffer from high unemployment. They have little access to professional training and skill development schemes.
How does the social business solve this problem?
Garment Cerrik will provide stable employment to disadvantages women including above market average wages and fair working conditions, which will significantly enhance the livelihoods for many families. The social business will also provide on the job training and promote good practices for the local garment industry.
How does the social business generate revenue?
The garment factory will produce work wear and t-shirts for international brands. The social business will work under the “facon” model, i.e. doing mainly the cut- make-trim processes and exporting to European clients. These clients outsource the production of their products, in order to be more efficient and have more flexibility in terms of quintiles of production and time deliveries.
